v2.0.3 (build 245) · 2026-10-17
- Installer size reduced to about 73 MB: the detection model now uses a compact build, and detection is faster.
- Disk use after installation dropped from about 421 MB to about 130 MB.
- Single documents and batches are handled in the same workspace: batches provide a summary review, and any document can be opened for a closer look.
- Offline trial of 5 redacted copies, after which a license code is required; import, detection, and review are not affected.
- The installer is not notarized by Apple; on first launch, allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Known issues: detection is still incomplete and may miss or misidentify items; review item by item and check every exported file. Scanned files and mixed image-and-text PDFs are outside full support.
v2.0.2 (build 244) · 2026-10-16
- For the first time, the installer bundles Wenyin's own trained sensitive-information detection model (about 400 MB): inference runs on your Mac, documents are not uploaded, no accounts are created, and there is no telemetry.
- Added four case-number formats, partially masked national ID numbers, and labeled organization codes.
- Single documents and batches share the same workspace; in batch review you can look at the summary first, then open a single document for a closer look.
- The model only supplements candidates in narrative and context categories; it does not change detection categories, replacement terms, or the review flow.
Known issues: the installer is noticeably larger, and detection is slower than the rules-only version, more so with longer documents.
v1.3.0 (build 236) · 2026-10-12
- Address detection now replaces the characters actually present in the original: full addresses spanning paragraphs, table cells, or text boxes no longer remain.
- Detection is still incomplete; review every result and check exported files.
- The installer is not notarized by Apple; first launch must be allowed manually.
Known issues: there was no bundled model at that time, so detection of narrative information was weaker than in later versions.
v1.3.0 (build 220) · 2026-10-08
- First public beta: on-device review and redaction, with signed in-app updates.
- Detection is incomplete; review all results and check exported files.
Release notes and update method
- A version number consists of the version and the build number. The downloaded file name looks like
Wenyin-<版本>-<构建号>.dmgand the repository tag looks likev<版本>-<构建号>. When reporting a problem, include both. - These versions are beta pre-releases; they do not represent full feature validation and do not constitute a final release.
- The download repository keeps installers for past versions; file names do not overwrite same-named versions.
- In-app updates are handled by Sparkle: it checks automatically by default and notifies you, and downloads and installs after you click. You can also switch to manual mode or download a new DMG and install it over the current version; seeSupport and Updates.
- Versions with problems have their update recommendation withdrawn and are replaced by a fixed build with a higher build number; already installed old versions cannot be withdrawn remotely.
- Each version's feature scope and known limits are inCapabilities and Limits; system requirements are inSupport and Updates.
What we check before a release
Before packaging, every candidate build runs the build and tests and checks source-code invariants and the localization keys for the four languages. After packaging we verify the code signature, generate the DMG, update package, and checksums, and publish to public channels only after installation checks pass. Update packages are password-signed, and after release we read back the published files and verify that the checksums match.
These checks show that "the package is complete and can be installed and updated"; they do not mean detection results are ready to use: detection can still miss or misidentify items, so review item by item and check exported files.
