Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and scope

By installing, opening, or using Wenyin, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

These terms apply to the Wenyin macOS app (including the bundled local background program and the Finder extension) and to the Wenyin website. Commercial terms for trials and purchases are inLicense and Refunds; data handling is described in thePrivacy Policy; third-party component licenses are inThird-Party Notices. They complement one another: these terms cover licensing and liability, the Privacy Policy covers data, and the license page covers commercial rules.

If you use Wenyin on behalf of an organization, you must confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization. We currently offer only single-Mac individual licenses; there are no team terms.

2. Definitions

Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on a licensed Mac.

What you may do

Install and use Wenyin on a licensed Mac to process your own documents;

• Import documents to create library copies, review each detection result, and generate and export redacted copies;
• Decide for yourself whether to share an exported file with an external AI or another service; you initiate this step and you are responsible for checking it;
• Re-enter your saved license code after reinstalling or restoring the system on the same Mac (valid when the hardware identifier is unchanged).
• What you may not do

Use one license code on multiple Macs, or share, rent, resell, or transfer a license code;

• Copy, distribute, or publish the software or its installer (including renamed or re-signed versions);
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or bypass license verification, integrity checks, or trial counting, except where the law expressly permits it;
• Remove or modify copyright, trademark, or other rights notices in the app or its documentation;
• Use the software, documentation, interface, or design to train any model;
• Use the software for unlawful purposes, or to process documents you have no right to process.
• The license does not include: accounts and cloud services, subscriptions, cross-device sync, remote revocation, or team or education licenses. These capabilities are not provided at this time; see

License and Refunds.4. Trial

Before activation, you can use the full functionality to try 5 documents, to confirm whether the actual output meets your needs. The count is "one document for each redacted copy successfully generated."

• When the allowance is used up, the app stops generating new redacted copies and prompts you to activate; import, detection, and review remain available, and generated copies can still be exported.
• The trial record's key and count are stored in the local keychain and an encrypted copy. If the record cannot be read (for example, keychain access is denied or the record is damaged), the app clearly informs you and refuses to generate new copies; it does not rebuild the allowance automatically.
• Known tradeoff: reinstalling after uninstalling, erasing the whole computer, or similar operations may change the local record. We do not claim that the trial count cannot be reset; please use the app honestly.
• 5. License code and activation

Activation is in Settings → License: paste the license code and you are done, entirely offline, with no network connection needed. The license code is signed by us, verified on your Mac with the app's built-in public key, and checked against the machine code to confirm it was signed for this machine.

License verification is a software-level check used to distinguish paid from unpaid use. We do not claim that the license cannot be bypassed, and we make no "anti-copy" promises. Because licensing is entirely offline, we cannot deactivate a license on a particular Mac remotely; for the practical limits of refunds and transfers, see

License and Refunds.If a license code cannot be activated, first confirm that it was copied completely and that you are using the release build of "Wenyin," not the development build; then contact us through the channels in section 13 to reissue or replace it.

6. Your responsibilities

Lawful use

• : process only documents you have the right to process, and comply with applicable laws, professional standards, and confidentiality obligations. Wenyin is a tool and does not change the responsibilities you already have.Review item by item
• : automatic detection can miss or misidentify items; review every candidate before export, add anything missed, and remove false positives.Check exported files
• : open the exported file to confirm that the information you wanted removed has been handled and the layout is not damaged; do not judge from the in-app preview alone.Keep your own backups
• : copies in the library are working copies, not backups; keep your own backups of important documents.Device security
• : detection results and copies are stored on your Mac; if you share the computer with others, protect this data with a login password, disk encryption, and screen lock.Do not misuse the channels
• : do not send real documents when reporting problems; use synthetic samples when reproducing.7. Third-party components and open-source licenses

The software includes third-party open-source components (for example Sparkle and ONNX Runtime) and open-source font subsets. These components follow their respective licenses, and the license-scope restrictions in these terms do not apply to them; where these terms conflict with a third-party license, that third-party license governs for that component.

Third-Party Notices. Our distribution complies with those licenses: we retain copyright notices and license texts, and we do not sell fonts separately.8. Intellectual property

Wenyin is commercial closed-source software. Copyright and other rights in the software belong to the developer. Without written permission, no one may copy, distribute, publish, or resell the software or its license codes, or use the software, documentation, interface, or design to train any model. All rights not expressly granted by these terms are reserved by the developer.

The product name, icon, and interface design belong to the developer. Third-party components distributed with the app or on this website are governed by their respective licenses; see

Third-Party Notices.9. Original files and copies

Wenyin only creates copies: it copies a document into the library at import, and generates a separate redacted copy at redaction. Original files are not overwritten, moved, or deleted. Deleting data in the app moves the library copy to the system Trash; undo only retracts the redacted copy in the library and does not affect files already exported.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided "as is." We make no warranty as to the completeness or fitness of detection results, or their fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the software.

We are not responsible for: your failure to review detection results; your delivery of an unchecked exported file; runtime problems caused by your OS version, hardware, or third-party software; or consequences of your own decision to send files to external services.

This section does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited under law, and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Termination

If you breach these terms (for example, sharing a license code, bypassing license verification, or distributing the software), the license terminates automatically: stop using the software and delete it and its local data. If a paid license is terminated for breach, we do not refund amounts already paid.

You may stop using Wenyin and uninstall it at any time; see

Support and Updates. Because licensing is offline and permanent, uninstalling does not trigger a refund and does not remotely invalidate the license on an old machine.If we stop maintaining a version, the version you installed can still be used offline on the original machine; updates and support may stop, and this will be explained in the

public release notes.12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the mainland region of the People's Republic of China. If a dispute arises, please first contact us through the

contact details; if negotiation fails, either party may bring an action in a court with jurisdiction.13. Changes to these terms and notices

When these terms are updated, the effective date and document version at the top of this page are changed, and changes affecting your rights are explained in the

public release notes. Major changes will also be announced in the website footer and the WeChat groups.Continuing to use a new version of the software after changes means you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, stop using the software and uninstall it.
